This has been Mike Maloney’s personal car since 2012. He purchased it to replace his first 2010 roadster, which was hit by an oncoming car and totaled. This car was his daily driver from 2012 to 2017 when he moved to Puerto Rico.
This car has safety, comfort, and performance upgrades costing more than $162,000, which are all too numerous to list here… but here’s a sample.
Interior:
Accelerator and brake pedals were reformed to provide 1.5” more legroom. Custom left foot dead-pedal engineered to match new legroom distance. Door panels were re-sculpted to allow much easier entry and exit. Custom shims machined to adjust seat height. Seats were re-padded to fit body more precisely and comfortably. Unnecessarily high headrest were trimmed by 3” to allow view of traffic in adjoining lanes. Then seats were reupholstered in fine leather. Entire interior was reupholstered in black suede to eliminate reflections in windshield and windows. All interior chrome trim was blacked out to eliminate reflections. Your Escort Max CI 360 radar/laser system. Custom rearview mirror with integrated map lights and radar/laser system display. Complete custom stereo system including Kenwood head unit, Mosconi Gladen One 60.8 eight-channel amplifier with electronic crossovers and digital signal processing. Passenger side foot-well mounted powered subwoofer. Custom rear speaker cabinets machined from aluminum. Ceramic inverted doom Accuton tweeters and mid-bass speakers in custom machined aluminum mounts. BAM XXXL and Roadkill sound deadening inside doors, fenders, dash, motor compartment, and throughout the interior under all carpet and upholstery. Blackvue 2-ch dash cam front and rear cameras. Spectra PhotoSync infrared rejecting window tint on all windows. All interior lighting upgraded to lower power usage LEDs.
Exterior:
Old paint protection film removed. All paint and exposed carbon fiber parts were buffed and polished. Xpel Ultimate Plus paint protection film applied to entire car. Custom cornering lights hidden inside bumper shark-gill grill vents, made from LED motorcycle miniature headlight/driving/fog lights. Clearcoat exposed to carbon fiber exterior rear view mirrors, with blacked out mirror mounts. Carbon fiber lower exterior door seals. All exterior lighting upgraded to lower power usage LEDs.
Mechanical/electrical:
Gruber PEM Level-2 upgrade. PEM cooling fans and ducts. PEM DC input block and motor input block upgrade. Battery coolant pumps installed. OVMS remote monitoring device installed. inTrax performance suspension with fully adjustable springs and dampers. Gruber Motor Company (GMC) Tesla Roadster Performance Brake System with new brake lines and powder coated calipers. GMC 12-V lithium ion replacement battery. LED headlight conversion.
